The Huge Sweatshirt
Alright, I know its still summer for most of you, but the weather in my area has SUCKED lately. I'm also just really excited about this cute, affordable look for fall. I'm finally getting a car soon *woot* but in order to pay for it, I'll have virtually no spending money for back to school wardrobe. Fortunately, if you're poor, you can still be up on the trends. The purpose of this site is to help girls like us who aren't roling in the dough to look awsome with little or no money. The huge sweatshirt look is cheap and easy like a Dominican hooker! (not that wearing it will make you look like one haha! Check this out and let me know what you gals think!
^^ You have a hoodie already... if you don't, more power to ya, but if you're looking for a funkier way to bum it out on a lazy day, loose the jeans or sweatpants for a pair of shorts with shear tights. Dress it down with uggs or up with pumps.
^^A similar look is accieved with an over-sized long sleeve t-shirt for a slightly warmer day. The off the shoulder look makes it more causual and laid back. if you don't have a wide neck or v-neck shirt, cut the collar yourself.
^^Class it up a little bit with a sweater rather than a sweatshirt. Very cute and reminiscant of the early 90s.
^^Retail stores are now selling sweatshirts that are made to fit more like a dress. Obviously, as its a newer look, you'll probably have to look a little further than your closet or the thrift shop. I got one of these on sale for about $7 at Rue 21.
^^ This last look is my favorite. Remember when we were seven years old and we pretty much lived in sweatsuits? Over the past 15 years, we've forgotten about the plain, hoodless, un-fitted sweatshirt. Honestly, a couple years ago, I wouldn't be seen dead in one, but surely enough, once something's been out of style for long enough, it comes back in a new way. I absoluely love the embroidered sweatshirt and have been scowering the thrift shops for something similar with little success. Good luck to you!

I love the first and third looks. :)
@lighthours@xanga - me too I'm so gonna try and pull that off soon haha!
Love it! Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to wear "just hoodies and tights" at school. I love this style!
And I love reading this, it's very helpful
I like the look. It's comfy and cute. I'd wear it, but I would probably get a lot of crap for it from certain people (specifically my siblings) - people who have grown to hate leggings.
I have two really cute sweatshirts that i wear a lot. They're from urban outfitters( BDG Cozy Pullover Tunic and Truly Madly Deeply Dolman Sleeve Pocket Tunic). I wear skinny jeans and booties with them at school but mostly just leggings out of school.
Thanks for the add! I love all the style suggestions you've made. I pretty much love the huge sweater look. I actually wear a long cardigan with tights underneath which is a pretty similar concept.
@Real_Girl_Fashion - I'll definitely be doing the same! Thanks for the inspiration. :)
I love it, I wear it a lot =]
i've always LOVED the big baggy sweatshirt look..thanks for tips on how to make it look good!
i just bought a huge dark grey sweatshirt with a mickey mouse on it.
sooo thinking about ripping up some stockings and pairing it with some cute pumps or motor boots.
love this look.
i love your posts!
keep up the good work :)
i absolutely LOVE this. :)
ooooooo pretty :P
i wanna try !!this is good! but oversize clothes make me fatter. any idea how i can wear huge sweatshirt yet look slim?
yess I love this look! I'm really into oversized clothing ^^
I guess I'm showing just how fashion-ignorant and old I am, but I can't believe people would actually wear just an oversized sweatshirt and tights out of the house! I agree that it's cute... but it doesn't seem like a full set of clothing! (and to further prove how old I am, this reminds me exactly of looks in the 90's .. just without the, erm, pants.)
Hello RGF,
You made your site simple yet elegant. The pictures are a nice touch. I see that you have a wide variety of interesting observations here!
I’m sending an important message to people from Jehovah God that is in the Bible: "And my holy name I will make known… and I will not suffer my holy name to be profaned any more: and the nations shall have to know that I am Jehovah."
(Ezekiel 39:7) (YLT)
