Tights
A basic staple of any fashionable girl's wardrobe today is a basic pair of leggings or tights. Oddly enough, these things have been available really cheap at walmart in a little plastic egg-shaped container for years, unnoticed by young women who had been either wearing jeans or showing skin during the late 1990s - early 2000s. Now that the runway dictates that they're in style again, boutiques are putting cuter lables on them and cranking up the prices. Unless you get lucky, you'll probably have to pay a bit more for bright colors and cute patterns, but check the hosiery section of your favorite department store. You might get a better deal.

^^Heres a basic, easily re-enacted outfit. Pair a simple sweatshirt with any mini skirt and opaque tignts that complement the chosen colors. Whats cute about this outfit is that the tights and skirt doll up the casual sweatshirt without getting too dressy.
^^ Another cute style is the peter pan look. Its a combination of opaque tights, earthy tones, and boyish cuts (not manly!)
^^ Shorts! Here are two polar opposite looks accieved with a pair of opaque tights, a pair of shorts, and a scarf. The first look is similar to the peter pan style with its use of earthtones, the leather belt and the shoes. The second look uses sharper colors to accieve more of an urban style.
^^ Bright colors! These, like the ones on sale at WetSeal, can easily stand on their own. Pair them with something simple like neutral colored fitted top and high-waisted skirt. If you're feeling daring pair it with something wild like other bright colors, textures and patterns.
^^ Lace! Pair these with a very simple, casual outfit or go glam with other girly accessories.
^^ Herring bone texture! Really classy, sexy, and easy to find in department stores for a good price. Dress them up or down with a dress or a sweater.
You can do just about anything with a simple or spicy pair of tights. Be creative! The possibilities are endless!

I LOVE leggings. They save me because I'm tall & I love tunics & dresses but I get nervous wearing them incase I sit down or pick something off the group, they ride up. I dont wear hoochie clothes so dont think that, LOL, but that happens to every girl I suppose.
Leggings I'll spend money on, but not tights. I'll never spend more than $2 of them since I only end up using them once or twice before they fray or run. Knitted tights last longer. Is that what they're called? I know they feel like a thin sweater but I dont know if that's the proper name or not, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong! =)

these are such cute outfits. it really makes me want to go out and buy like 500 different colored ones! sadly though at the moment i have 0 :( *sigh..
I love tights and leggings, you can be very creative with them, I usually wear them with a skirt or just with a long T-shirt.
lots of girls wear them her but its not my thing! not yet i guess.heh...

I swear I just need to find a cute pair of flats. I have some tights and leggings but I have no shoes to pair with the outfit. I think flats would be a good basic pair of shoes to start with though. I love patterned tights too, I really need to get some. I need to go shopping.
I love tights and have a pair of dark green ones, but have been too scared to try anything with them. Awesome post! Maybe I'll pull them out and try something.
I love wearing leggings and/or tights, but I wouldn't wear the really brightly colored ones because my legs are not thin enough. And the lacy look is just not my style. Otherwise, though, a lot of it is cute.Â

tights are so versatile..they keep you warm, they go with almost anything without throwing it off..and they're sexy
It takes guts and a lot of confidence to wear a bright colored tights/leggings and I don't have them :( but anyway i still love tights and leggings!
This post somehow sparked motivation and inspiration in me to put together as many outfits as I can with all the different types of tights I own. I usually stick to the normal opaque black full and three-quarter length tights. But I also own a pair of bright yellow, bright purple, royal blue, etc. I've only worn those a few times each however, now I'm determined to wear them more. Best part is that tights look good with any coloured flats, boots, and heels :) Great post!

It's harder to pull off when you've got curvy legs instead of these stick legs these girls have.
