The Hippie Headwrap/Elven Crown
I was recently looking for solutions to my poofy hair problem. I have naturally course hair, and am not one to afford keeping up with hair appointments every six weeks to relax my roots. Sometimes somewhere around my seventh week without a relxer, I'm ready to shoot myself in the head over my 'nappy roots'. They make my hair look too big and unrooly at the top, and make my bangs and the shorter strands around the hears stand out at odd angles. Whether you have a rough hair problem like me, or have friendly hair that could go for a new, edgy look, this trend will look hot on you. It's also a simple solution to 'recycled' or slept-on hair, hair with a hairtie dent or hair that is trained to puff upward at the back of the neck from wearing a ponytail too often.

^^ These headwraps are stylish elastic bands similar to an over-grown ponytail tie. These can be found at Forever21 for $1.50 each and come in many colors. At walmart, you can get packs of more than 5 for even cheaper.
^^Here are how a simple black walmart-style band looks with, or without, cropped bangs.
^^If your bangs are too long or too short to look good with the headband, pin them aside.
^^ Makes for a really cute, flirty and fun side ponytail. Tie your hair on the opposite side of which you sweep your bangs.
^^Here are the braided, patterned style headwraps. The first picture is how it looks with long bangs pulled forward onto the forehead and then swept aside. The second photo shows how long bangs look without brushing over the forehead.
^^For a retro 70s look, don't worry about the side-swept style at all. Just part down the middle.
^Here are two different ways to rock a gold metalic headwrap.
^Make a bolder, more playful statement with a chicker headwrap.
^^Here are two looks using more decorative thick headwraps. The first uses the 70s center-part, and the second incoorperates 80s 'poofed' (teased and pinned back) bangs.
^^Oddly enough, this look can even be pulled off with an excersise sweat band!
^^ Hey, I don't like her, and only God knows how much she must have paid for it, but if you can find a headwrap this glam for a price I would condone, more power to ya!

um, I much prefer the term "elven headwrap"
because then you think of beauty instead of druggies.
no way!
I love fairy lure and all things fairytale and mystical related
especially in fashion inspirations :]
cool, I'll totally send ideas and pictures if I ever come up with anything.
I LOVE this style. I like the way Nicole Richie wears them. Will it work on medium length hair? Mine is a bit past my shoulders.
love it! soo cute!
love it but i definitely can't pull it off._.
lol wearing 1 right now - not in that way though
I wear it in a sweat band way - to keep my hair outda my face
I love this look, but I'm scared to try it haha. I don't know if I can pull it off.
I do this sometimes. I recently have the hairstyle on my profil pic, it can also look a bit medieval, like a diademe of fabric (it was made of lace the one I wore).
i like headbands but i don't think it's cute with glasses. :(
i really like it but i don't think it would work with my hair short. have you seen the shiny headbands from american apparel? they're expensive but i'd looove to have a couple.
might try it...love the way it looks..
I think it's cute on other people. I probably wouldn't be able to do it right though. I have a hard time with accessories to begin with.
I hate this fad...
i like it
they're cute but I dont like the pics you posted up
Cute :D. I don't know if I can pull it off though.
The thicker ones are cute but I think the thin ones look kind of silly
Hmm, I'm on the fence about this trend. Fine for other people not for me I think. lol I wear headbands all the time but this look wouldn't really work with my braids.
I've had difficulty in the past pulling this off by now I kinda wanna try again ^__^
Cool hairstyle, I should try this one in front of the mirror. I don't know if it will suit me or not but will give it a go! Thanks!

Sadly I just tried this with my newly cut fringe (I have now gained a fat fringe, the newest hairstyle I've gotten in years) and for some reason it doesn't look too great. ... I must be doing something wrong eh?
Love it! I might just go buy a few. Do you think you could pull this look off with short hair?
I think only certain girls can pull it off. Could I, probably not. haha. But hey if you can own it, go for it!
